On June 10th, we carried a report from Corriere dello Sport, who explained Lazio might be the ‘only possible destination’ in Serie A for Matteo Darmian.

It was further claimed the Italian capital club even contacted the Manchester United player’s agent Tullio Tinti.

Cittaceleste reached out to Darmian’s representative to find out if there’s any truth in reports linking his client to Lazio.

“Darmian to Lazio? You should ask [Igli] Tare [Lazio sporting director]… ” Tinti said.

The agent is very much sitting on the fence.

Over the past few weeks, Inter Milan’s interest has been discussed and they’re reportedly ready to offer €5-6m to sign the fullback, which is half of what Manchester United are demanding.

The Italy international has been linked with a move away from Old Trafford in the past few windows and with a year left on his contract, the Red Devils would prefer to cash in from the 29-year-old’s sale rather than allowing him to leave for nothing in 2020.
