Yaya Toure’s agent Dimitri Seluk has been enjoying a lot of limelight in recently due to his stand off with Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola.
There’s been much said to the media, after Guardiola chose to exclude Toure from his plans at Manchester City.
The 33-year-old has another year left on his contract at the Etihad, but hasn’t featured under Guardiola.
Seluk has been speaking again, this time to Italian website Tutto Mercato Web, and surprisingly denied any rift between Toure and Guardiola.
He said: “Problems between Yaya and Pep? No, absolutely not. I deny these rumours.”
Toure has been linked with a move away from Manchester City during the January transfer window, but Seluk believes the Ivorian midfielder will stay at the Etihad until the end of his contract.
He added: “Yaya will stay at Manchester City. There is a valid contract until the end of the season, then we will see what will be the best situation for its future.”
Toure was strongly linked with a move to Inter during the summer transfer window, but the move didn’t materialise, and the exit of manager Roberto Mancini almost certainly closed that avenue.
Seluk says Manchester City demanded a lot of money, and that there is still a lot of interest in his client: “The problem was Manchester City, they claimed a lot of money to let him go. There are many teams that would like Yaya, not only in Italy.”
The midfielder will be on big wages at Manchester City and therefore it’s going to be difficult finding a club to get near the amount, which may be why Toure’s agent suggests they’ll stay beyond January, or perhaps they’re fishing for a pay-off.
