Such is the pressure and expectation at Barcelona, if Luis Enrique only wins the Copa del Rey this season, with the club in the final, there will be questions asked about the manager’s future.
Ronald Koeman is one of the men most linked with potentially taking over, and in January it was reported in Spain that the Everton manager is one of Barcelona’s options.
Frank de Boer’s agent has been asked about his client potentially having a chance at the job, and he believes Koeman is the likelier option.
Speaking to Tuttomercatoweb, Guido Albers said: “No, I do not think. Frank is a piece of Barcelona history, but I think the club has other coaches in mind. Like Koeman, now at Everton.”
Koeman has taken on a long term project at Everton with the renewed investment, but if Barcelona do come knocking in the summer then it’s obviously going to be tempting for the Dutchman.
