BeinSportsTR have spoken with Vincent Aboubakar’s agent Ceylan Caliskan with regards to his client’s future.

The Cameroon captain has been linked with a move to Newcastle United in recent weeks, following claims the Premier League side have been in talks to sign the player.

Caliskan has told BeinSportsTr: “I am aware that Besiktas are currently in talks with Porto and Lorient for Abou. It’s a tricky situation because you have to convince both clubs.

“He’s my client and he told me he’s more than happy to continue at Besiktas if the club agrees with Porto and Lorient. He wants to stay at Besiktas, that’s for sure. But if the agreement can’t be reached he’ll play for another club.”

Earlier this month we covered reports Newcastle United have been in ‘advanced talks’ with Porto regarding signing Aboubakar. It’s unlikely Besiktas would be able to compete with Newcastle United financially, and the Turkish champions would be less likely to pay the €10m asking price for Aboubakar

Aboubakar impressed whilst on loan with Besiktas last season, scoring 17 goals in all competitions for the Kara Kartal. Newcastle United weren’t mentioned by the agent, which may be because the club have asked not to be, or it could be an indication interest has cooled.
