Arsenal have recently been linked with a move for young Italian goalkeeper Aniello Viscovo. The 17-year-old plays for Serie A club Crotone, but hasn’t made his debut for the senior team yet.
According to Tutto Mercato Web, Viscovo’s youth performances have caught the attention of Arsenal, but his Serie A club have big plans for him.
Viscovo’s agent Luigi Liberti has been speaking to Italian website Tutto Mercato Web, and was asked about the interest from Arsenal.
Liberti explained: “I’m aware of the interest of big clubs. Especially because he is a very serious and professional guy, going beyond the technical skills and value that make the difference, and he’s then able to make an important professional career.”
Liberti also confirmed Crotone have big plans for the young goalkeeper, and there is no need to rush Viscovo.
Arsenal links help the goalkeeper’s profile rise but to actually make the move to Arsene Wenger’s club could be seen as a step backwards. There’s no point in the young goalkeeper signing for a club where he’d be third choice at best, or starting out the process of repeated which may lead to nothing in the end.
For now, it’s nice for Viscovo and his representation if Arsenal are showing interest, it’s a confirmation of talent, but that’s all it should probably remain.
