Paulinho struggled during his two seasons at Tottenham Hotspur and after that, the midfielder joined Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande in 2015.

Barcelona signed the Brazil international in 2017 and having spent a year at the Camp Nou, he returned to the Chinese Super League side, where he’s still plying his trade.

FcInterNews has a report on the 31-year-old and in the headline, they state agents have ‘proposed’ his client to Spurs and Inter Milan.

It’s claimed the Nerazzurri and the Premier League side are looking to strengthen midfield, and in recent weeks the player’s representatives initiated contact to try and drive up interest.

Guangzhou Evergrande paid €42m to secure Paulinho’s services and he is contracted to the club until 2023.

The Chinese side consider their star as non-transferable and therefore, coupled with Paulinho’s current wages of €15m per year, it makes the entire cost of the operation too high.

That’s given as one reason Tottenham wouldn’t be interested, but the whole idea sounds strange from the off.
