Manchester City’s pursuit of Kalidou Koulibaly continues to be heavily covered in Italy, and there are interesting updates coming from Sky Italia.
They report the defender’s agent Fali Ramadani has met Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis to talk about the player’s future.
The officials had dinner in Capri, where the representative made another approach on behalf of Manchester City, the outlet says.
Despite the strong interest from Pep Guardiola’s side, the Premier League club are not willing to spend the €75m demanded by Napoli for Koulibaly.
A reason not to spend that much is that Manchester City are also interested in signing Nathan Aké from Bourmeouth. That would be a cheaper option for the club, so could take preference.
Sky Italia doesn’t make it sound like De Laurentiis will give the Premier League side a discount for Koulibaly, as Napoli stand firm on their demand of €75m for the their 29-year-old star.
That said, €75m is €25m less than the €100m previously quoted, so there’s at least been some movement.
