Even though players and managers normally like to see their names linked to other clubs, this doesn’t seem to be the case of Marco Silva right now.

With Premier League sides such as Everton thought to have him on a wish-list, returning to Portugal was never something that made much sense to him.

That’s probably why when the links with Benfica first came out, all of the Portuguese press was quick dismissing the rumours, claiming that there have been no contacts between the Eagles and the former Watford boss.

And now his agent Carlos Gonçalves has also spoken, explaining that it’s not Silva’s wish to return to Portugal at this stage of his career.

On Tuesday, the Liverpool Echo claimed the manager is still on the Toffees’ radar, although they worried about the Benfica links.

But these recent reports and quotes make it clear that staying in the Premier League should be his priority now, which gives Everton quite a good chance to land him in case Sam Allardyce leaves at the end of the season.

But maybe the Toffees better hurry, because Silva seems to be a wanted man again.
