On Thursday, we covered claims from the Turkish press that West Ham United are serious about Galatasaray’s Wilfried Zaha. The Premier League side aren’t alone and are joined by Aston Villa in the transfer race.
That’s at least what Takvim are reporting, and they add that West Ham and Aston Villa are keen on signing the winger in the summer window.
Zaha joined the Istanbul club on a free transfer last summer, and after enjoying a good start to this season, he lost prominence in recent months. To give context, he featured only four times since the start of March.
The recent situation has convinced the former Crystal Palace star to leave the Turkish club and he wants to return to the Premier League, where both West Ham and Aston Villa have emerged as options.
Zaha wants to meet the Turkish club’s leaders, to convince them to sanction a move in the next window.
Takvim state his agent is currently in England, and has met with the Hammers and Unai Emery’s side. It’s further claimed the representative has ‘started negotiations’ over the possibility of the 31-year-old’s transfer.
Zaha has managed 10 goals and five assists from 39 games for Galatasaray this season.
