Junior Firpo was an integral part of Leeds United’s squad that secured promotion to the Premier League and won the Championship this season.
The left-back played 34 games and contributed 14 goals [four goals and 10 assists] for the Whites.
His contract at Elland Road expires in June and it’s unclear whether the 28-year-old will be at Leeds next season.
Saturday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport have a report on the defender and it isn’t good for Leeds. They state Lazio, AC Milan and Atlético Madrid could be options for the former Barcelona man in the summer window.
The Dominican Republic international’s agent met Lazio sporting director Angelo Mariano Fabiani on Thursday. The representative has offered his client to the Serie A club, who are trying to join Milan and Atlético in the transfer race.
Corriere points out Milan and Atlético are also in the picture to sign the player, who could also return to Barcelona. They add the fullback will leave Leeds and is ‘collecting offers’ from elsewhere.
Junior would be open to making a switch to Italy and can be a great option for Lazio.
They haven’t made the final decision, and a potential move for the Leeds player depend on Luca Pellegrini and Nuno Tavares’ futures at Lazio.
