Following the many rumours on the future of Manchester United loanee Andreas Pereira, his agent has finally spoken out on his situation at Flamengo.
Representative Giuliano Bertolucci had a very brief contact with Brazilian outlet O Dia, and with few words, confirmed that he’s not extending his stay at the Rio de Janeiro side.
“He’s going to Europe,” said the official.
Pereira is loaned to the Rio de Janeiro side until the end of June, so there’s one month left for him to play for them and should soon be in Erik ten Hag’s squad for the pre-season.
When joining Flamengo on loan last year, Manchester United agreed that he could be bought if a €20m buying option was triggered. The deal changed a few months ago, when the clubs shook hands for a €10m.
However, with Pereira showing a poor form which did not convince the Brazilian side, the agreement was abandoned.
By saying ‘Europe’ instead of ‘Manchester United’, however, it doesn’t sound like Bertolucci is sure the midfielder will be getting a new chance at Old Trafford.
