Despite claims on Thursday morning that Manchester United had been in contact with Julian Alvarez’s agent, no in-person meeting between the representative and the Red Devils has been scheduled.
That’s according to Calciomercato.it, who reveal that while the agent ‘will arrive in Europe on January 2nd’ to ‘meet the various clubs that have expressed interest’ in the Argentine.
It’s expected that he will have a ‘stage in Italy’, where teams such as Fiorentina, Inter, Juventus and Milan are all reportedly after him, but what happens beyond that is anyone’s guess.
What the website do point out is that ‘the rumour that the entourage are ready to fly to Manchester to meet United’ has been ‘denied’ by their source.
That doesn’t mean they will not meet the Red Devils are some point in the near future, but it isn’t on their agenda just yet.
Perhaps Manchester United will reach out closer to the time, but it’s clear that Alvarez’s agent is ready to sit down and see what people have to offer as soon as 2022 rears its head.
If Ralf Rangnick’s side are indeed interested, they know where to find him.
