At the end of the last week, we covered a piece from Italian outlet Calcio Mercato which reported Manchester City interest in Benfica striker Darwin Nunez.
It was a very short story, only claiming that the Premier League side had joined Barcelona in the race for the 21-year-old.
The Portuguese media covered the rumour at the weekend, and apparently couldn’t confirm that Pep Guardiola is after the Uruguayan starlet.
Record brings an article crediting Calcio Mercato for the information, and there are only two things they’ve managed to learn. The first piece of information is that Barcelona are not interested in the player.
The other one is that, according to his agent, there are many clubs who’ve been following Darwin Nunez lately.
But the plan is to keep the striker at Benfica until 2022.
This is the kind of plan that normally changes once European giants come chasing the player, but it seems clear for now that the representative isn’t even teasing with Nunez’s departure from the Eagles.
