Throughout the Bruno Fernandes saga, Correio da Manhã have been the most sensationalist Portuguese source.

When other newspapers from the country have tried to calm things down, or completely ignored it all for a few days, Correio da Manhã have usually been ready to hype things up.

It’s no surprise they have an article in their Saturday edition on a potential move to Manchester United, and whilst some of their claims agree with those we covered earlier from A Bola (mainly that United want to get Harry Maguire over the line before moving on to Bruno), others push things a bit more.

Miguel Pinho, the player’s agent, is said to be in England ‘intensifying negotiations’ with Manchester United to ‘formalise the proposal’ to be sent to Sporting ‘early next week’.

The agent ‘only returns to Portugal’ when he has this offer, making it sound like he’s been ostracised until he comes up with the goods.

However, it’s added: ‘CM knows that the priority for Manchester United is the hiring of Maguire.’

Similar to what A Bola said about the club seeing him as a No.10, CM add: ‘Solskjaer intends to place him as second striker. The United coach wants to make the most of Bruno Fernandes’ finishing skills.’
