Joshua Zirkzee has scored three goals from 21 games for Manchester United since joining them from Bologna in the summer window.

The striker has had a mixed performances for the Red Devils and hasn’t yet managed to replicate his Serie A form at Old Trafford. This has led to claims of the 23-year-old potentially returning to Italy in January.

Juventus and Napoli are said to have shown interest in taking the Manchester United man, likely on a loan deal, next month. Zirkzee could reunite with former Bologna manager Thiago Motta at the Turin club.

At this point in time, the Netherlands international is unlikely to leave Old Trafford in the winter market. That’s at least what Italian agent and intermediary Vincenzo Morabito, who is described as working a lot between Serie A and the English market has told Radio Marte. His comments are relayed by Napoli Piu.

He insists the Premier League side have no plans to let the Dutchman leave next month and has explained his reasoning.

“I can exclude a transfer of Zirkzee to Napoli in January. Players at this level hardly move when the league is underway,” he said.

“The Dutchman has just arrived at United and his difficulties in tactical adaptation are normal at this stage. In Italian football, when a player isn’t used to certain game systems, it is normal that he may encounter some initial difficulties.

“As for Zirkzee, Manchester United have no intention of selling him, not even on loan. They would still have to replace him, and this would involve a further investment to replace him in the squad.”

Since Ruben Amorim arrived at Manchester United in November, he has mainly used Rasmus Højlund and Marcus Rashford to lead the Red Devils’ attack.
