Agent informed of Newcastle’s interest in player – Club open to agreeing deal with Magpies for signing

Two days ago, journalist Matteo Moretto reported Newcastle United have initiated contact with AC Milan over signing Malick Thiaw in the summer window.

On Friday, Corriere dello Sport stated the Magpies believe Thiaw has qualities that they are looking for in a centre-back.

A fresh report from Tuttosport claims Eddie Howe’s side are knocking on the Italian club’s door for the defender.

Newcastle signed Sandro Tonali from the Rossoneri last summer and this deal has seen the two clubs build a good relationship. That could help the Premier League side secure a deal for the Germany international, who is on their shortlist for this summer.

It’s claimed the Tyneside club have expressed their interest in the player to his agent.

The central defender has three years left on his contract, and Tuttosport state Milan are open to holding negotiations with Newcastle to possibly ‘find an agreement’. The report mentions a ‘high valuation’, without mentioning any figures.
