Cecilio Dominguez’s agent is trying to keep his silence regarding Chelsea’s alleged interest.
The Paraguayan media have made a big fuss about it in the past few days, taking claims from The Telegraph to say that Antonio Conte’s side would be following the player.
Contacted by Sport Witness, the agent said: “Truth is I don’t want to talk about it. I hope you understand it. Can’t talk about it.”
The attacker’s record in 2016 is quite impressive, having scored 22 goals in 35 appearances.
The same agent has recently given an interview to local radio ABC Cardinal. Even though he also didn’t want to talk about it, he’s hinted that a Chelsea move would be interesting.
“We still won’t talk until the national team and his participation in Copa Sudamericana are over. Hopefully there is in the interest of Chelsea”.
“Cecilio can play in any league. I wish he could have minutes in the national team because he’s not communitarian (doesn’t have an EU passport) and to play in that league, for example, the national team is a priority”.
“We knew this was going to happen, but we want him to be calm, we’re looking for the best for himself and the club. The truth is that I cannot talk about the subject, in the right moment we will talk, there are many important teams that want him.” (via ABC).
San Lorenzo are currently in the Copa Sudamericana semifinals, which is South America’s equivalent to the Europa League.
They’ve tied the first game 1-1 against the Copa Libertadores champions Atlético Nacional, who are allowed to take part in both competitions due to the season timetable. There’ll be a very important second leg before the end of the month, that’s why the agent wants things to keep quiet so fans and media won’t bother the player’s mind for now.
