The agent of Southampton forward Manolo Gabbiadini has told the Italian media he expects his client to return to action soon. Southampton’s winter signing picked up an injury against Tottenham Hotspur, which ruled him out of recent internationals.

Speaking to Gianluca di Marzio, Silvio Pagliari said he only expects Gabbiadini to be out for another week as his recovery from the injury is nearly complete. Pagliari also said the Southampton star has settled well in England, and he hopes he can continue his recent form on his return.

“Manolo is really good in England, his impact has been devastating so he just needs to continue in this way. With his recovery the injury is almost healed, at most a week,” said the player’s agent.

Gabbiadini has made a huge impact since signing for Southampton in January, which earned him a recall to the Italian national squad. The striker has been in impressive goalscoring form, including a brace in the EFL Cup final against Manchester United.

Given his form since joining the club, Southampton fans will hoping his agent is right about the player returning to the team.
