Manchester United and Newcastle United could be given an opportunity to sign Inter Milan’s Denzel Dumfries in the last week of the winter market.
The Netherlands international’s agent, Rafaela Pimenta, has made a trip to England to hold talks with several Premier League sides.
That’s according to Calciomercato, who state the agent spoke to Manchester United and Newcastle. Chelsea were also mentioned, but Malo Gusto appears to be their priority.
At the moment, the Italian club have not received any calls for the 26-year-old because of their high demands. They want a fee between €40m and €50m to sanction his sale, and both the Red Devils and the Magpies consider this price to be excessive.
Newcastle have Kieran Trippier at and he has cemented his place at the club. The position isn’t so clear at Manchester United.
Erik ten Hag initially favoured Diogo Dalot, who lost his place to Aaron Wan-Bissaka post the World Cup.
Calciomercato explain Dumfries is unlikely to leave Inter in the coming days, with things being kicked forward to the summer.
Over at Gazzetta dello Sport, they also explain Pimenta is in England, where he has held discussions with several big Premier League sides.
They don’t specify with which clubs the agent has held talks with, but do state Manchester United and Newcastle are interested in Dumfries. If these two sides are keen to sign the player, they need to spend around €40-50m in January.
