One of the players Chelsea signed in the summer transfer window was Jorginho, who arrived at Stamford Bridge from Napoli.
The Blues parted ways with Antonio Conte and replaced him with Maurizio Sarri earlier in July. The latter left his position at the Naples-based side and moved to the west London club, after which the midfielder also followed his manager.
Prior to the Brazil-born Italian international’s move to the English capital, he was heavily linked with a move to Manchester City as Pep Guardiola had long been interested in bringing him to the Etihad.
“It was all done with Jorginho. There was an agreement, but there was no agreement between the clubs. All parties have to agree, and one did not. Then Chelsea asked what the situation was after Sarri arrived and Jorginho went to London. Going to Chelsea was a unique opportunity,” Santos told Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.
