Yesterday, Turkish websites RadyoSpor and AjansSpor both reported Tottenham Hotspur have agreed to sign Cengiz Under from Basaksehir for €9m this summer.
However, claims a deal has been done with Tottenham have been denied by Under’s agent when he spoke to FutbolArena about the situation:
”Nothing has come from the club to us so far (Basaksehir). We’ll discuss it as it happens, but so far nothing.”
Of course this doesn’t mean Radyospor’s reports are totally inaccurate, but it seems Tottenham haven’t yet won the race for the talented winger. What is clear is the Basaksehir starlet is being closely followed by a host of European clubs, and Mauricio Pochettino will have to act quick to land the player.
It’s also worth noting that Manchester United and Wolsfburg are closely following his situation after Jose Mourinho sent Krsto Kllbarda to watch the youngster last season.
Under joined Basaksehir from Altınordu for €700K at the start of the season and he’s been a revelation since his arrival. His performances have helped Basaksehir mount a title challenge against Besiktas after the Turkish club finished the season in 2nd place, their best ever finish.
