Sampdoria’s Omar Colley has entered Southampton’s radar if reports coming from Italy are to be believed.
According to ANSA, the Saints sent their scouts to watch the centre-back in action at the start of this year and have received positive reports about the 27-year-old.
It’s claimed Ralph Hasenhüttl’s side are willing to pay €15m plus bonuses for the defender, who has a contract with the Serie A side until 2022.
Meanwhile, ANSA also explains that Sampdoria president Massimo Ferrero is planning on bringing 18-year-old Nemanja Perović, who currently represents Montenegrin side FK Iskra Danilovgrad.
Perović could replace Colley at Stadio Luigi Ferraris if the latter ends up leaving the club.
Following ANSA’s report, Sampnews24.com got in touch with the player’s agent Cheikh Fall, but he has denied Southampton’s offer for his client.
Fall has only denied the Premier League side’s offer for Colley, meaning there could still be interest from St Mary’s, but they have not yet tabled a bid.
The Gambia international has made 21 appearances in the league since arriving in Italy from Genk in 2018.
