The agent of Giuseppe Bellusci has expressed his delight that his client has completed his move to Empoli. Michelangelo Minieri has been locked in talks in recent weeks to get the Leeds United defender a move back to his home country.

Speaking to TMW, Minieri said Bellusci still has admiration for Leeds United following his two years with the Championship club. However, despite the player being happy in England Minieri revealed the opportunity to play in Serie A was something they couldn’t turn down.

“Leeds two years ago invested in the boy and they still admire him a lot. However, for Bellusci after two important years in England there is now the opportunity to return to Serie A and prove his worth,” said the Bellusci joining Empoli.

Bellusci yesterday joined Empoli on loan for next season following speculation in recent weeks he would be returning to Italy. The 26-year-old was also linked with Ascoli, Pisa, Torino and Bologna.
