The agent of Salernitana forward Massimo Coda has told the Italian media he will look to get his client a move to Serie A in the summer. Coda has been linked with Leeds United in recent weeks following claims the Championship side made an approach for the 28-year-old.

Speaking to TMW, Beppe Galli said he currently has three players he represents who can step up to Serie A, with one of those being Coda. Galli said Coda deserves at this stage of his career to be playing in the top flight of Italian football, and he hopes they can achieve this during the summer transfer window.

“I have three boys who deserve Serie A: Coda at Salernitana, Romagnoli of Carpi and D’Elia of Vicenza. In June I will do everything to bring them to the top flight,” said the forward’s agent.

Last month we covered reports from the Italian and English press that Leeds United had made a bid for Coda following comments from his agent. Galli informed the Italian media offers had been made for his client, but wasn’t prepared to reveal from who. Coda has been impressive form in recent weeks, and has been nicked ‘Il Bomber’ for his goalscoring exploits.

Galli had initially held talks with Leeds United in Milan during the last transfer window, but they couldn’t get a deal done before the deadline. Salernitana president Claudio Lotiio has promised Coda he can move in the summer window, but at this stage it seems Leeds United could lose out to a Serie A club.
