Lazio star Sergej Milinković-Savić is back on Manchester United’s agenda, as per reports.
The midfielder’s deal expires in 2024 and he’s already expressed his desire to make a move to a top European club this summer.
That’s according to La Lazio Siamo Noi, who add the 27-year-old’s representative, Mateja Kežman, ‘could soon deliver a proposal from Manchester United’ to the Serie A side.
The agent is working behind the scenes to collect proposals for his client, but, at the moment, he isn’t ready for a meeting with Lazio. The Serbia international’s story with the Red Devils is closely linked to the outcome of their efforts to sign Barcelona’s Frenkie de Jong.
Manchester United have agreed a deal with the La Liga side for the Dutchman, who is the number one target for Erik ten Hag. The transfer has not taken shape because De Jong has been reluctant to leave the Camp Nou so far.
The situation with De Jong has seen the Premier League side look for alternatives and this is where Milinković-Savić fits in.
La Lazio Siamo Noi further add ‘new developments are expected’ on the Milinković-Savić-United case soon.
With Ten Hag keen to sign his compatriot for Manchester United, it is unlikely there would be developments on the Milinković-Savić affair, until the English club have more clarity with De Jong’s situation.
