Chelsea continued to be named as an interested party in Jules Koundé after failing to sign him in summer 2021 window.
The Blues have already completed Kalidou Koulibaly’s signing and are looking to bring in another centre-back this summer, with the France international and Paris Saint-Germain’s Presnel Kimpembe emerging as targets.
Marca state the Premier League side are not ruled out of the race for the La Liga man, even though they continue to negotiate for the PSG player.
Koundé underwent surgery in June and it’s not clear whether he will start training, once he returns to the club on Wednesday.
He will be part of the Spanish club’s pre-season trip to Portugal if his suitors like Chelsea, Barcelona or another club decide not to move for him.
From his environment they inform Koundé everything will be resolved soon. With claims of Barca’s interest, Marca explain Sevilla sporting director Monchi has not yet received any communication from the Camp Nou side.
At the same time, the Frenchman’s agent ‘continues to warn’ Sevilla about the ‘imminent move’ from Chelsea. As it stands, Tuchel’s side have not taken that step.
The Andalusian club would prefer to negotiate with the Blues with a ‘starting price’ of about €65m.

Although Koundé returns to Sevilla for training this week, Marca state ‘the parties wish to say goodbye. Chelsea and Barcelona now have the floor’.
The reports linking Koundé to Chelsea have dragged on for a while, with the latest claims stating Tuchel’s side have resumed talks with Sevilla.
It’s worth noting there has been no progress made beyond that, at least as per the report, by the English club on this case.
