Moussa Marega’s absence from Porto continues to be a trending topic in Portugal, where the local press waits to see if he’s moving to West Ham United or not.

This Sunday, newspaper Record brings some very interesting quotes from the player’s agent, Aziz Ben Aissa. He explained everything that has been going on between the forward and manager Sérgio Conceição.

The representative insists there’s been a promise at the end of the last season that hasn’t been fulfilled. Marega was told he could move in case they won the league title, which they did.

“Conceição told Moussa that it was time to leave and that a good proposal would be accepted,” Aissa told Record.

The newspaper writes that West Ham have made a €30m bid for Marega. And the agent has confirmed it, saying the London side “won’t give up on Moussa”.

“He was confident about the promise made and went to the manager. He (Conceição) came back on his word! They argued and Sérgio Conceição dismissed him until August 9th, which is when they close the registrations in England.”

The agent insists that Marega loves Porto, and that’s why the club should resume the negotiations with West Ham. But a story in today’s edition of Correio da Manhã says that the Dragons won’t make the departure easy, demanding his €40m release clause.
