Watford and Wolverhampton Wanderers are keen on Tobias Pachonik, according to his agent.
The right-back was of interest for Spartak Moscow, Besiktas, Fulham and Wigan Athletic last summer, but he preferred to join Eredivisie side VVV-Venlo on a free transfer.
He has a goal and three assists in 26 league appearances and reports coming out of the Netherlands suggested PSV Eindhoven and Feyenoord are interested in the German.
The defender’s agent Ersin Akan is unaware of these claims and during the discussion with Voetbal International, the representative revealed interest from the Hornets and Wolves.
“It may be true [about PSV and Feyenoord], but those clubs did not approach me,” Akan said.
“There is a lot of interest in Tobias. From the Premier League, among others. Watford and Wolverhampton Wanderers showed serious interest.”
Watford have been keen on the fullback for a while as the Dutch outlet reported in December the Vicarage Road club ‘enquired’ about the player. The Wanderers have become the latest Premier League club to chase Pachonik.
Akan also admitted there has been no development regarding his client’s future, due to the global health crisis.
“And then the corona crisis broke out. Nothing is concrete at the moment. Clubs everywhere are now awaiting developments in the world and in football,” the agent explained.
Pachonik, however, has stressed a transfer is not a priority for him.
“Unions and clubs are facing major challenges. Transfers are not a priority. Neither for me. All I can do during this period is to stay fit and prepare for every possible scenario,” the player stressed.
“If I can make a transfer and can also help VVV with that, then I am certainly open to that. But I don’t have to leave. I am very happy in Venlo. Because of the family atmosphere, the people who work there and the fans.”
