Manolo Gabbiadini’s agent has confirmed that the player had the chance to leave Southampton this summer.

Interviewed by Radio Sportiva (via Calcio Mercato) this Thursday, the representative has claimed that the player had the chance to return to his home country, but turned down the offer.

“Gabbiadini? He’s happy at Southampton”, said Silvio Pagliari. “There was the possibility of returning to Italy, but right now we want to play the cards in the Premier League. At the end of the season we will draw the sums.”

This is not the first time these offers are revealed. Earlier this month, Gabbiadini himself had spoken to Italian newspaper Gazzetta Dello Sport, and claimed that he turned down the bids to stay at Southampton.

Among the clubs who have recently been linked to Gabbiadini, there were the likes of Parma, Lazio and Bologna. He was linked to Fiorentina as well, but it was later explained by his agent that the talks with La Viola were actually about the player’s sister, who’s also a footballer.
