The agent of Manchester City midfielder Mix Diskerud has revealed on Twitter his client is returning to IFK Göteborg to train.

The 27 year old spent a loan spell with IFK last season when he was playing for New York City.

Diskerud only joined Manchester City in the last transfer window from New York City, but it seems he’s been given permission to join up with IFK at their pre-season camp in Spain.

His agent Fredrick Risp today posted on his Twitter account that IFK had approached Manchester City with regards to bringing in the Norwegian born player, and that the Premier League side agreed he can be part of their preparations for next season.

Fotboll Direkt also report IFK sporting director Mats Gren has been in contact with Manchester City about their recent signing, but there are no claims at this stage the USA international will be offered another loan deal by the Swedish club.

The player made 29 appearances for IFK last season, scoring 5 goals.
