The agent of Genoa midfielder Diego Laxalt has confirmed Leicester City are interested in his client. In the past few days there have been claims the Premier League champions could look to move in for the former U20 Uruguay international.
Speaking to Il Secolo xix, Vincenzo D’Ippolito was asked about the future of Laxalt at Genoa, and the interest from other clubs. D’Ippolito said Leicester City are keen on the 23-year-old, but also revealed there are other English clubs monitoring the situation with the player. Despite Leicester City’s interest in Laxalt his agent confirmed as yet an offer hasn’t come in for the Uruguayan.
“Yes, there is the interest of Leicester, but they not the only English team to have requested information for him. There are at least two more. No offer yet on the part of Leicester for Laxalt,” said the player’s agent.
Laxalt arrived in Italy in 2013 when Inter Milan bought the midfielder from Defensor Sporting. However, the South American didn’t play a game for the San Siro club, and after loan spells with the likes of Bologna and Empoli he signed for Genoa last month.
However, Leicester City are still keen on Laxalt, and could look to move in on the youngster before the deadline.
