The agent of Leeds United defender Giuseppe Bellusci has told the Italian media his client wants to remain in Serie A. Bellusci is currently on loan with Empoli from Leeds United.
Speaking to Calciomercato24, Michelangelo Minieri was asked about the future of Bellusci and whether he would be remaining with Empoli for next season. Minieri confirmed the Leeds United player is keen to continue playing in Italy, and that the central defender has settled at his current club. Bellusci’s agent went on to say first they will now see out the season, and then discuss his future.
“The boy is very well located at Empoli, he’s settled quickly into an important and consolidated group, now he expects to achieve the objectives with the club. He definitely wants to stay in Serie A, but obviously now we just finish off with Empoli and attain salvation, then there will be time to plan for the future,” said the Leeds United loanee’s agent.
Empoli have a right of redemption on Bellusci, and if he continues with his impressive form he could leave Leeds United on a permanent deal in the summer. The 27-year-old has been one of the stand out players for Empoli this season, and despite being at the wrong end of the Serie A table it seems they will avoid the drop.
