Despite only being used as a rotation option by Max Allegri at Juventus, Stefano Sturaro insists he’s very happy in Turin with his role despite being linked with a number of Premier League clubs.

Over the past four months, we’ve covered stories sending him to West Ham, Stoke, Everton and Newcastle, two of which have just been confirmed by the player’s agent.

Speaking to Il Bianconero in Italy, the Juventus midfielder’s representative was asked about what the January transfer window held for his client, especially considering his situation with the Serie A champions (just three league appearances so far).

He said: “It’s pleasing that during each transfer window, Stefano is in demand in Italy and abroad. In the Premier League, for example, the attention tends to come from clubs like Everton and Newcastle.

“However, everything is genuinely premature, he’s thinking about doing well at Juventus. He has a great ability to not suffer from competition issues. He considers all of them as teammates, and always tries to give his best when he’s picked”.

Still only 24, the Italy international still has plenty of time to earn himself a regular spot in Juventus’ midfield, yet his club’s desire to bring in the likes of Leon Goretzka and Emre Can next summer would certainly hinder those chances.

Perhaps a move next summer, and not midway through the season, might be better for him, and there’s no doubt whoever is in charge of Everton around then and Rafa Benitez will be there if he becomes available.

After all, he isn’t going to want to sit on the bench for the rest of his career, which he wouldn’t do at Goodison Park or St James’ Park.
