Fotomac have reported Galatasaray could be interested in signing Sunderland’s Jeremain Lens after claims the player’s agent Kees Vos has offered the attacker to the Turkish club.
The Turkish newspaper reports Galatasaray are looking for a replacement for Bruma, with the Portuguese winger joining RB Leipzig in a €15m deal. Now Galatasaray could look to spend some of that money on the Sunderland outcast.
Lens spent last season on loan at CimBom’s fierce rivals Fenerbahce, and he was one of their standout players during a poor season for the Turkish giants. The Dutch winger regained his place in the national team, and ahead of the 2018 World Cup he’ll want to maintain the form he showed last season.
Lens has stated he doesn’t want to play Sunderland next season, and a return to Turkey looks to be his best option if the likes of Galatasaray offer him the right deal.
The Netherlands international spoke negatively about Sunderland before their relegation, and it’s unlikely he’ll want to play in the Championship next season given his World Cup ambitions.
