According to Swiss newspaper Blick, Birmingham City are interested in signing Luzern striker Blessing Eleke before the transfer deadline.
Speaking about the player’s situation, via Sport Extra, football agent Stephen Makinwa, confirmed Birmingham City interest in his compatriot: “There are currently offers for Eleke. I know that Birmingham City has contacted him, but his work permit situation could hinder a potential transfer.“
It’s reported his club are likely to allow him to leave if an offer in the region of €4m is tabled, and the Eleke is also open to continuing his career elsewhere.
With just under 24 hours left of this summer transfer window it seems Birmingham City are looking to do some last minute business, with Eleke an option.
The 23 year old joined the Swiss side last season from FC Ashdod for €800K and quickly established himself as a first-team regular.
Last season Eleke scored 17 goals in 39 appearances for his club, and his contract will expire at the end of June 2022.
