Arsenal’s Lucas Torreira has returned to the Emirates after Fiorentina refused to exercise an option to convert his loan deal into a permanent transfer.
With a contract expiring in 2023, the midfielder has several options to leave the Gunners this summer.
On July 13th, the player’s agent revealed they have a pre-agreement with Valencia, but the La Liga side have not managed to find an agreement with Arsenal to carry out the transfer.
Since then, Galatasaray and the Uruguay international’s former club, Sampdoria, have been credited with interest in signing him in the current window.
Earlier on Thursday, we covered claims made in Spain that Mikel Arteta’s man is fighting to join Los Ches and therefore has stopped his move to the Turkish club.
With several reports naming the Istanbul club as the South American’s main suitor, Habertürk TV in Turkey decided to get in touch with Torreira’s representative, Oscar Betancourt, for an update.
“We haven’t signed with a team yet, but the best offer came from Galatasaray. We will make our decision in a short time,” Betancourt said.
Habertürk state Galatasaray have made a proposal worth €10.5m including bonuses for three seasons.
