On Monday, Fotospor stated Celtic seem to have given up on Trabzonspor’s Uğurcan Çakır as Galatasaray are the only team interested in him. It was also suggested that Brendan Rodgers’ side will have to look elsewhere for a new goalkeeper.
Two days later, we covered claims from Turkey that Celtic are serious about the 28-year-old and there was also talk about an offer tabled by Brendan Rodgers’ side.
This is now backed up Günebakış, and they say Celtic have ‘made an offer’ for Çakır, who is also on the agenda of other clubs.
AS Roma, FC Nantes and Saudi Arabian side Al-Ahli have also shown interest in him, but Celtic are the only ones to have made an offer so far.
Çakır’s agent William D’Avila has revealed negotiations are ongoing with various clubs, without providing details of those teams.
“We are in talks with important clubs from Europe and the best clubs in Saudi Arabia,” he said, as quoted by Günebakış.

There’s been conflicting claims on Celtic’s offer, but they clearly seem to be in contention to sign the stopper.
