As has seemed to be the case pretty much since he joined Barcelona, Arda Turan’s future at the club is under question. An undisputed star for Atletico Madrid, Turan isn’t in the plans of Luis Enrique, according to Mundo Deportivo.
It doesn’t matter that Enrique is leaving Barcelona at the end of the season, an exit remains on the cards for Turan, and Mundo Deportivo have gone over several possible options.
Arsenal and Inter Milan are picked out, with the Catalan newspaper saying Turan’s agent has spoken to both clubs. Arsenal have the advantage, with ‘sources close to the player’ feeling a Premier League move is likelier as it stands.
Along with Arsenal and Inter Milan, Mundo Deportivo don’t rule out a China move. That could be the best case scenario for Barcelona, given the transfer fee would likely be higher. Turan refused a move to China in the January window, one that Barcelona would have been minded to agree to.
Arsenal have been repeatedly linked, with various claims and denials over the past year or so. Should Arsene Wenger fancy a shake-up this summer then Turan could be an option.
So far this season, Turan has played as a right sided and left sided forward for Barcelona, on the left of midfield, and in a more central midfield position.
There’s several options there for Wenger, but a left sided attacking role would perhaps be the most fitting, so any move would likely depend on Arsenal outgoings.
