FC Inter News have a claim on Wednesday morning which brings Chelsea into the picture for Francesco Acerbi.
The 32 year old is a left footed central defender with a contract at Lazio lasting until June 2023. Like several Lazio players he’s impressed this season, and it’s claimed his good performances, which have helped his club in a fight for the Serie A title, have brought interest from elsewhere.
Represented by Federico Pastorello, it’s reported the agent is ‘already’ talking about a transfer with both Chelsea and Inter Milan.
Inter have good relations with Pastorello, he helped to take Romelu Lukaku to the club during the last summer window. That could give them an advantage, but it’s got to be questionable how real Chelsea interest is.
Given he’s 32 years of age, and Chelsea don’t like handing longer contracts out even to their own senior players, it’s unlikely Frank Lampard would push the club to do so for Acerbi, when the Blues have younger options.
