In February, Lassana Diarra terminated his contract with Paris Saint-Germain and announced his retirement from professional football.
Adrien Rabiot’s contract at Parc des Princes expires after this season and he’ll leave the Ligue 1 winners as a free agent.
According to Paris Team, Thomas Tuchel’s side are looking to bring in three midfielders in the summer and one of the players they targeted was Manchester United’s Ander Herrera.
With less than three months left on his current deal, the Spaniard was all but set to leave Old Trafford and join PSG on a free transfer, if the earlier reports were to be believed.
The former Athletic Bilbao man has already said ‘yes’, but the deal has not been sealed yet.
It’s claimed the 29-year-old is dragging things out, which is why there has to be utmost caution from PSG when dealing with his negotiations.
Even though Herrera has a ‘verbal agreement’ for transfer with PSG, he has not signed an agreement that will close his move to the French club and the latter believe this is because he’s waiting to see if a proposal from another club could arrive.
Herrera’s situation has ‘internally annoyed’ PSG’s sporting director Antero Henrique and as a result, they have set sights on other targets, including Celta Vigo’s Stanislav Lobotka and Julian Weigl of Borussia Dortmund.
