It’s been Manchester United and no one else over the past few months for Adam Ounas, but things are about to change.

The French attacking midfielder, who had a good breakthrough season for Bordeaux in Ligue 1, was linked with the Premier League club before the arrival of José Mourinho, but the rumours seemed to continue even after the Portuguese’s appointment.

That either points to the youngster (he’s only 18) being a club target rather than manager specific or that Mourinho told the club to go for him ahead of his appointment.

If we were given a choice, we’d probably go for the former of the two options, but it appears the northern club will face competition from Chelsea for Ounas’ signing.

According to Anthony Ricarte, a journalist for Aquitaine Radio Live, a local radio station, the London club have joined the race for the young player’s signing.

He tweeted: “Adam Ounas also of interest to Chelsea, but has caught the eye of Mourinho. Advantage Manchester United. One to follow very closely…”

That’s exactly what we’ll be doing, Anthony.
