Leicester City scout José Fontes should be leaving the Foxes for a job at AS Roma this summer, according to claims coming from the Italian media.
Tutto Mercato Web is the one with the exclusive story. They say they’ve ‘confirmed’ the rumours from the past few days which say the official is heading towards the Italian capital, as the negotiations are now in the ‘advanced stages’.
The website points out that Fontes has picked up big experience working at Leicester City, as he joined the club back in 2016, becoming the Foxes’ chief scout in 2019. The job at Roma should also be as a chief scout.
Fontes, who’s Portuguese, would now work with several compatriots at the Giallorrosi, especially club director Tiago Pinto and new manager José Mourinho.
Since the announcement about the Special One’s arrival, there’s been a huge growth in the transfer rumours involving Roma. Now with the club going after a new chief scout, it seems they’re actually looking beyond this transfer window already.
