As Adrien Silva still waits for FIFA to make a decision over Leicester City’s appeal to register him as a summer signing, the player hasn’t been speaking to the press about the matter.
But Portuguese newspaper Correio da Manhã managed to get an interview with his wife, Margarida Neuparth, to talk a little about the couple’s move to England when the transfer goes through.
The story isn’t in the sports section of the newspaper, as the focus is on the relationship between them, after the couple got married last year.
Regarding the transfer, Margarida said: “We are still waiting for an answer, but we are calm, we are a very close family. We don’t fear anything.”
Neuparth also claimed she’s been prepared to leave Portugal, even before the Leicester City transfer came around: “Before I started dating Adrien, I already knew this could happen. It doesn’t scare me to move out and if I have to do it, there’s no problem.”
And even though Adrien Silva has been said to be wanting to leave Sporting for a long time now, she claims that the decision regarding the move had to be done in a hurry: “The news caught us by surprise, we talked and decided that this year the kids continue to attend to school in Portugal. Whenever I can, I will be with Adrien.”
With Adrien suffering from an injury issue, he’d be unavailable to play for Leicester City anyway, and that’s given him reason to split his time between Lisbon and England.
