It may still be early November, but there’s no denying this weekend’s clash between Liverpool and Manchester City is a huge game.

Liverpool currently top the table by six points after another impressive, unbeaten start to the season.

A win this weekend would, therefore, put them nine points clear and, as far as some are concerned, hand them a significant advantage in this year’s title race.

Games between these two sides have proved to be thrilling tactical encounters in recent years, with them very rarely failing to put on a show for those watching.

Liverpool goalkeeper Adrian is expecting another tight game on Sunday but believes Anfield will once again play its part.

“The two teams are going to go for a win so it will be tight,” he told Mundo Deportivo.

“We have Anfield’s trick in our favour, which is no small thing. There are times when the opponent concedes a goal he thinks he will concede another three in five minutes.

“Barça is the best example. It’s no secret that playing at home is an advantage.”

Another factor that could play into Liverpool’s hands is the small injury crisis that has hit Manchester City in recent weeks.

The Blues have lost several big stars already this season, with goalkeeper Ederson the latest to join the list of absentees after picking up an injury in the Champions League in midweek.

That will likely see Claudio Bravo deputising, although Adrian insists that is not an advantage for Liverpool.

“The loss of Ederson loss is a big one, but Bravo is an experienced goalkeeper,” he added.

“Him playing instead of Ederson is no advantage for us.

“And it is clear that Laporte and Silva are different factors and difficult to replace, but Guardiola has many alternatives to alleviate these absences.”
