SC Braga defender João Ferreira has told the Portuguese media that he already feels settled after his loan transfer from Watford.
The 23-year-old joined the Liga Portugal side on a season long loan deal from the Hornets during the last transfer window.
Speaking to O Jogo ahead of Braga’s Europa League clash against Maccabi Tel Aviv tonight, the right back was asked about his first impressions at his new club.
Ferreira said it wasn’t an issue settling in, and his teammates have provided assistance. Asked about the game tonight, he acknowledged the challenge ahead.
“The adaptation was easy, everyone helped me to integrate in the best way and as quickly as possible. We know that the opponent is strong and that they haven’t lost for a few games. We will have to be serious, do our best to win the game and start the Europa League in the best way,” said the Watford loanee.
A graduate from the Benfica academy, Ferriera signed for Watford during the 2023 January window, but struggled to get games with the Championship side.
Subsequently he was loaned out to Udinese last season, making 29 appearances for the Serie A side.
in the summer he was loaned Braga as he looks to get more first team experience. At the weekend he started his first league game for the club and should be in contention to start tonight’s game, especially given he featured at the pre-match press conference.
Ferreira is contracted to Watford until June 2027.
