Inter Milan can beat Arsenal if they accept playing like an away side and take advantage of their moments when they arrive.
That’s according to former Arsenal defender Philippe Senderos, who has instructed the Italian side on how they can win in a conversation with Gazzetta dello Sport.
Arsenal take on Inter Milan in matchday four of the Champions League tomorrow, travelling to Milan to take on Simone Inzaghi’s side.
The pair find themselves separated by just one place in the new Champions League table at this moment in time, with seven points each from their first three games. Inter Milan sit seventh ahead of Arsenal in ninth thanks to a slightly better goal difference.
Arsenal, on the other hand, were beaten 1-0 by Newcastle United, a result which left them fifth in the table and seven points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool.
Mikel Arteta’s side have been vulnerable in recent weeks and Senderos has told Inter Milan what they need to do to secure all three points for themselves.
“Arsenal have great players: if you leave room for Bukayo Saka, he has the possibility of hurting you. In the Premier League not only do they double up on him, but they also put a lot of pressure to stop the passes that should come to him, which are an important part of the team’s game,” he said.
“Inter must be strong in defence, accept the moments in which they have to defend as a team, know how to suffer: Arsenal can put you under pressure and you have to accept it. If Inter are capable of doing this, then they must know how to exploit the opportunities to the utmost.
“Arsenal have their identity and will continue to play that type of game. If Inter want a result they must accept it, even if they play at home.”
