There has been recent speculation in the Italian media that Napoli could look to sign Aston Villa defender Jordan Amavi in the summer window.
The Serie A side are bracing themselves for Faouzi Ghoulam’s exit, and his departure is looking more likely following claims AC Milan want to sign the Algerian.
TMW have reported AC Milan are set to offer Ghoulam a five year contract with a salary of €2m a season. It’s been reported the Italian giants have already made contact with the player’ agent with regards to moving to the San Siro in the next window.
If the deal goes through Napoli will be in the hunt for a new left back this summer, which could have implications for Aston Villa. We recently covered claims from Italy that Napoli are following Aston Villa’s Amavi.
The club’s director of football has been keeping an eye on the 23 year old’s performances this season, and has put his name down on a three-man shortlist for the summer if Ghoulam leaves.
With Aston Villa failing to win promotion back to the Premier League the Frenchman may decide to move on, and a transfer to Serie A could be tempting.
