AC Milan are planning on reopening negotiations with Tottenham over a move for Serge Aurier this summer.
That’s according to Corriere Dello Sport, who say the Italian side are working to improve their options at right-back and have identified the Spurs man as an ideal target.
Aurier is keen on the move and sees Milan as a ‘suitable solution’ for his career, mainly as he’s found himself out of favour under Jose Mourinho.
He has instructed his agent to get a deal done with AC Milan and ensure they seal a transfer, but there is a problem over Tottenham’s asking price.
They want €22-23m for the defender, a price that’s a little high for Milan, who hope to ‘snatch him on better terms’.
Any negotiation is seen as ‘not easy’ because of Tottenham’s demands, and that is why Milan have put it on their schedule to talk with agents and discover if Spurs can be moved from their current stance.
If not, the Serie A side have a shortlist of alternatives, but their focus is very much on Aurier and getting him if they can.
Any potential deal, though, is heavily dependent on Tottenham lowering their asking price, an eventuality that seems unlikely given how Daniel Levy has done business in the past.
