Bologna have joined the race to sign Ternana forward Felipe Avenatti, according to claims in Italy. The 23-year-old could leave the Serie B side this summer, and has already been linked with a move to Leeds United and Palermo.
TMW have claimed Bologna are the latest Serie A club to show an interest in Avenatti as coach Roberto Donadoni looks to strengthen his squad for next season.
Under the guidance of the former AC Milan star, Bologna consolidated their place in the top flight in their first season back in Serie A, and are now hoping to push on in the next campaign. TMW also report the South American has been in the viewfinder of Leeds United in recent months.
Last month we covered reports from Italy that Leeds United are increasingly insistent on signing Avenatti in this transfer window, with claims there has been contact.
The South American only has 12 months left on his contract with the Italian side, and they could be forced to sell this summer in order to get a decent transfer fee.
The Championship side were tracking the forward in the last summer transfer window, along with Aston Villa, but the player took the decision to remain in Italy.
