Chelsea midfielder Tiemoué Bakayoko has ended up staying at AC Milan on loan after an ‘absurd’ deadline day failure to secure a move elsewhere.
Calciomercato cover the player today after he was linked with several moves at the end of the January transfer window.
The Frenchman is currently on loan at AC Milan but has found himself out of the picture and was seeking a move away before yesterday’s deadline.
A potential move to Turkey, to Adana Demirspor, was on the cards but the website explains that this won’t happen and is the ‘fourth transfer attempt missed’, meaning he will remain with Milan until the end of the season despite the Turkish window closing on February 8th.
They explain that the situation became ‘absurd’ despite the ‘optimism expressed’ yesterday evening by the midfielder’s agent to CM yesterday.
According to their information, there was not enough time to complete the whole process, which also involved Chelsea, and the decision came too late for a transfer to be completed.
TuttoMercatoWeb add their own information, stating that Bakayoko was ‘convinced of the possibility’ yesterday evening as the deal was ‘supposed to be set up’ while England’s window was still open.
However, the relevant parties were unable to finalise the deal in time and Bakayoko remained with the Rossoneri despite an offer from Adana Demirspor, then Cremonese, then Lyon and then again the Turkish club.
None of them came off and like Chelsea teammate Hakim Ziyech he is now stuck somewhere he doesn’t want to be until the end of the season.
